Discover the magic of the South American highlands on a unique journey connecting the Peruvian coast with one of the most breathtaking and surreal landscapes on the planet: the Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat. This four-day, three-night trek takes you from Lima to the heart of Bolivia, traversing an astonishing diversity of natural scenery, Andean villages, and vibrant cultures that preserve ancestral traditions amidst an extreme environment.
Throughout the journey, travelers experience a gradual and fascinating transformation: from the Pacific Ocean to the heights of the Altiplano, where the air is purer, the sky seems closer, and the silence takes on a special power. The Salar de Uyuni unfolds as an almost unreal landscape, an endless white expanse where the horizon dissolves and the perception of space is completely transformed. At certain times of the year, a thin layer of water turns the salt into a perfect natural mirror, creating reflections that seem straight out of a dream.
More than just a tour
This journey is a profoundly transformative experience. You’ll walk on ancient salt flats, explore the mystical Incahuasi Island, crowned by giant cacti that emerge like an oasis amidst the stark whiteness, and get a close-up look at daily life in the Andes, marked by resilience, spirituality, and a deep connection with nature. Each day offers new contrasts: deserts, colorful lagoons, endless skies, and sunsets that paint the landscape in shades of gold, pink, and violet.
This tour is ideal for travelers seeking more than just a destination. It’s for those who want to live an authentic adventure, feel the immensity of the high plateau, capture unforgettable images, and return home with memories that transcend photographs. More than a trip, it’s a story to tell, an experience that leaves a lasting impression and redefines how you see the world.

RECOMMENDATIONS
🧭 Recommendations
🧥 Clothing suitable for extreme weather
The Salar de Uyuni is located at over 3,600 meters above sea level, and the route crosses even higher areas. Temperatures can drop below 0°C, especially in the early morning and at dusk.
We recommend bringing:
- Thermal clothing (base layer).
- Fleece or thick coat (mid-layer).
- Windproof and waterproof jacket (outer layer).
- Hat, gloves, and scarf or buff.
Dressing in layers is essential to adapt to sudden temperature changes.
🕶️ Essential sun protection
The sun’s reflection off the salt is very intense. Even on cold or cloudy days, radiation is high. Always bring:
- High-factor sunscreen.
- Sunglasses with UV protection.
- Lip balm with SPF.
💧 Hydration and Nutrition
Drink water constantly in small sips to avoid dehydration and reduce the effects of altitude.
Bring energy snacks like chocolate, nuts, or bars, especially for long bus rides and the day on the salt flats.
💵 Cash
It is essential to bring cash (Bolivianos) for:
- Entrance to Incahuasi Island.
- Drinks and snacks.
- Personal expenses and souvenirs.
In Uyuni and on the salt flats, ATMs and card payments are not always available.
🔋 Electronic Devices
The cold quickly reduces battery life. It is recommended to bring:
- A power bank or extra batteries.
- Sufficient memory for photos and videos, as the landscape invites constant photography.
🚶♂️ Pace and Altitude
Walk slowly, avoid sudden exertion, and listen to your body. Altitude can cause fatigue, headaches, or loss of appetite during the first few hours.
❤️ Health and Prevention
If you have heart or respiratory problems, high blood pressure, or anemia, consult your doctor before your trip. Bring your personal medication and avoid consuming alcohol before and during the tour.
🪪 Documentation
Always carry your valid ID or passport. As this is an international trip, keep your documents readily available during travel and border crossings.
